UCARE is not just another new association. UCARE is a group of people of different nationalities, determined to work for the protection of animals. Our calling is international in order to unite all people conscious of animals’ fate, coming from associations or the general public regardless of any social, religious or political differences. UCARE is financed only by donations; see « give a donation ». All our activities are completely legal.

But we are not. . .

We are not a sanctuary and we don’t take in animals. We don’t have any facilities for that. Our objective is to act upon the reasons for mistreatment of animals, but not to handle its consequences.

OUR GOALS:

We are going to act everywhere in the world where human behavior destroys any living being, because suffering is not acceptable for any living species.

All causes aiming to gain respect for living beings are worth our interest. However we have chosen the one that is usually the most neglected: the cause of animals.

Nevertheless we don't want to ignore actions aiming to improve the lives of human beings. If our type of action succeeds, we'll be happy to extend our activity to other spheres.

Our ultimate goal is the significant improvement of living conditions for animals. In order to realize this, we will have to change not only minds, but also change  laws and the way laws are applied. Even small progress, is worth our efforts, if it represents a tiny step leading to an acceptable situation.

One of our first goals is to inform people and to let them inform others in order to break the line of misinformation sponsored by the industrialists. This group was also created in order to help people go about their daily activities more ecologically and more ethically  without causing the suffering of humans or animals.

It's not a secret to anybody that economical and financial lobbyists as well as political powers  govern the world according to their interests (profits, power, image). From our experience, we know that we shouldn't expect any ethical steps, if their interests are not involved. And this is not the farce of the French Environment Round Table of 2008, already flouted a lot, that will let us predict change towards a humanistic world respectful of living things.

Our compassion for animals is just the first stage, definitely the most basic one, which is of no use to them on a large scale. Only individual actions and commitments concerning the interests of power-holders, will have an effect.

But let's keep in mind that the choices of citizens (electoral vote) and consumers are the base of their power. Thus, we have a possibility to be heard.  

 

Many associations do fundamental and admirable work, often in real conditions. Unfortunately, it's necessary to note that their actions are not noticed by politicians.

There is a lack of collective movement with a strategic vision.

That's why we need to create a group with global ambition and universal objectives. Our united actions may lead to victory.

The animal rights protection community has some activists using radical methods that are sometimes illegal. 

We insist that our actions are not this way.  

 

A minority number of militants for the animal cause are for the abolition of any animal exploitation " otherwise nothing". Even if we agree on the end goal of our actions, we point out here that we have taken the road of pragmatism. We reiterate that any progress, even minor will be a stepping- stone to change. Unfortunately, some things will only evolve gradually. We must accept this. 

 

If we succeed and gain influence, our opponents will not miss an opportunity to try to shoot us down. Everybody knows the following proverb «if you want to get rid of your dog, accuse it of having rabies». It is classic in our society to want to slander our opponents by announcing the fact that they constitute a sect. We take the initiative by reaffirming in a very clear way that our only vocation is the animal cause and that we have no link with any sectarian organizations.

Any opposing information will be prosecuted for libel. Our sympathizer's private links with organizations other than UCARE do not concern us at all and are not known to us. We are just interested by the commitment of every one for our cause.
